Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to the feeder calf auction just one week ago, 500 - 600 lb steer calves were 8.00 to 12.00 higher with 700 - 750 lb calves 10.00 to 15.00 higher. Yearling steer trade was fully steady. Heifer trade saw 400 - 500 lb feeder calves 8.00 to 12.00 higher with 600 - 700 lb heifer feeder calves 7.00 to 12.00 higher than last week's auction. Again this week quality replacement heifers were available from reputation herds. Demand was very good for today's moderate offering of home raised LTW'd feeder calves. Trade very active.
