Trade activity and demand today was moderate to good. Trends were uneven today compared to last Saturdays sale as quality and vaccination programs varied quite a bit. Feeder steers under 500 lb traded 3.00 to 17.00 lower, 500 to 650 lb steers traded 2.00 to 15.00 higher, while steers weighing over 650 lb traded 1.00 to 10.00 lower. Feeder heifers under 400 lb traded 2.00 to 8.00 lower, 400 to 550 lb heifers traded 1.00 to 7.00 higher, while heifers over 700 lbs. traded lower 3.00 to 10.00. Tones were strong as Saturday's sale on good, high quality cattle. Next available report will be Saturday, January 13, 2024.
