Receipts were limited this week due to continued hot weather conditions, which held back livestock movement. With no sale reported last week, market trends are difficult to determine for comparison. However, demand was noticeably strong on feeder cattle, supported by a record-high feeder cattle board. This resulted in an upward price trend for feeders across the board. The offering included a mixed run of both weaned and unweaned calves, with buyers showing a clear preference for quality weaned calves. Slaughter cattle were not well tested this week due to very light offerings, making it difficult to establish a reliable market trend. Overall, despite limited receipts, the tone of the market remains firm-particularly in the feeder segment-thanks to strong futures support and continued demand.
